The Drive Aloha public safety campaign was launched in 2004 by DTRIC Insurance in response to an increased number of traffic fatalities in Hawaii. Seeking a way to remind motorists statewide to practice responsible and respectful driving habits, DTRIC released Drive Aloha public service announcements on radio and television, as well as coordinated a number of community sponsorships to promote vigilance while on the road.

Response was overwhelming, with the Drive Aloha campaign receiving an endorsement from the Office of the Governor as well as support from the Hawaii State Department of Transportation, City Prosecutor's Office, the City and County of Honolulu and the Honolulu Police Department.

The message of Drive Aloha is still critically important. At DTRIC, we continue to encourage safe driving through our many grassroots efforts, including public service announcements, car decal giveaways, community partnerships and, of course, playing our ever-recognizable Drive Aloha jingle whenever we can.
